Old Mountain Farm is excited that our handsome little buckling; *B Old Mountain Farm SteamyKnight was accepted into the 2024 ADGA Spotlight Sale.

We started our Nigerian Dwarf Dairy Goat herd thirty years ago. Throughout those thirty years, we have striven to make improvements to our herd and to the breed as a whole. We feel that “Steamy” is a good representation of our efforts.

We are no longer able to show or participate regularly in performance programs but time and time again, we have watched goats of our breeding excel in the show ring (including at the National level), during Linear appraisal and on DHI. We are grateful for all the “2 Legs” who have worked hard to
prove Old Mountain Farm animals.

Many of Steamy’s relatives have also been excelling in the competitive dairy goat world of Australia and Canada due to the exportation of our herd’s genetics.

Steamy is very well conformed with lovely breed character from his muzzle all the way back to the tip of his pin bones and down to his straight tightly cloven hooves. He comes from a long line of does that show the same conformation with lovely productive mammary systems.

His dam line is four generations of advanced registry milkers. They also appraised exceptionally well with his maternal grand dam appraising EEEE 92. One of his maternal great grand dams appraised EEEV 91. His other maternal great grand dam appraised EEEE 92 twice, the first time as a 5-year-old and the second as a 9-year old. Moreover, Steamy’s dam line is known for their quiet, gentle, loving demeanor.

Steamy’s sire, *B Old Mountain Farm Stag Knight; a handsome buck dripping with dairy character appraised VEE 88 receiving an E in rump, back and head. “Knight” is a full brother to the famous “SG ++*B Old Mountain Farm Bold Elk” who was not only the 2017 Premier sire but who sired the 2017 ADGA National Champion and Best Udder Doe and also the 2018 ADGA Reserve National Champion Doe. This doe was also 1st place in the Aged Doe class as a nine-year-old at the 2023 ADGA Nationals and also shows up in Steamy’s dam line.

Steamy’s sire is also a paternal brother to the 2017 Spotlight Sale Buck; Old Mountain Farm Brainstorm.

Steamy has many relatives that have matured well, staying productive into advanced age with several receiving Excellent LA scores as aged animals.

We are excited for whoever ends up giving Steamy his new home and truly believe that he will provide that person with many beautiful progeny.
