Overview

The Spotlight Sale is an annual auction conducted during the week of convention. Anyone can nominate animals from their herd to be featured at this sale. This gives members a unique opportunity to accentuate the accomplishments made with their herd. Animals selected by the committee are of the highest quality available. Using official DHIR, linear appraisal, show records, and DNA Parent Verified pedigrees, the committee looks for dairy goats which excel in all categories. Nominate the very best animals to generate interest which will ultimately reflect on your entire herd.

The Sale attracts buyers from throughout the United States and internationally. Buyers want top quality, performance proven, sound, and healthy dairy goats. The value of a herd’s advertisement and the name recognition it generates is considerable.

All nominations receive serious and thorough consideration in the selection process. The Spotlight Sale Committee works very hard to put together a sale that is a successful and positive experience for all parties involved – the seller, the buyer, and the dairy goat industry as a whole. Quality sells – especially where repeat breedings of proven animals are nominated as consignments. MORE DOES ARE ACCEPTED THAN BUCKS. Proven quality on both sides of the pedigree is needed, especially with regard to buck kids.

Carefully read and follow the Nomination Rules and Regulations and the Sales Contract. These documents include most of the information one needs to know and understand about the nomination and sales process. Nominating your animal is not difficult.

If your nomination is accepted, you will be provided information by email regarding displays, brochures, DNA typing, and fitting. If you have any additional questions, please submit your questions using the form below.
