Ben Mathers

Ben Ullerup Mathers is Lead for Specialty Cheese at the Center for Dairy Research (CDR) at the University of Wisconsin. Ben is a cheesemaker by training and joined CDR in 2021. Ben teaches technical short courses for cheese industry professionals, develops client trials in the CDR Pilot Plant, troubleshoots quality issues for small cheesemakers, performs internal work regarding specialty cheese production and applications, and manages the CDR Affinage Program.

In his own words, Ben is “very passionate about advancing goat milk products, so I am happy that a focus of the competition is also connecting participants to judges for consulting.”
